Correlated Electron Research Group

It has turned out during the last two decades that a large number of strongly interacting electrons in solids exhibit emergence of various surprising properties/functions, such as high-Tc superconductivity, colossal magnetoresistance, multiferroics, and quantum spin Hall effect, which cannot be understood within the framework of conventional semiconductor/metal physics. Our research group aim at obtaining the emergence of unprecedented and innovative electronic properties/functions, such as highly efficient energy conversion and dissipationless control of quantum state (information), by fully exploiting the complex interplay among multi-degrees of freedom of strongly correlated electrons as well as non-locality/stiffness/sensitivity characteristic of a "wave" in a well-designed "space-time structure that electrons experience".
