One Research Scientist or One Postdoctoral Researcher
Postdoctoral researchers indicate those who have research experience less than 5 years after getting the Ph.D degree, while research scientists are those who have substantial research experience (typically more than 5 years) and also appropriate achievements and ability.

Qualification

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in theoretical condensed matter physics, an excellent publication record, and relevant experience. Also, excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Salary and benefits

One-year fixed-term employment contract, renewable, based on the evaluation, up until March 31, 2018 at the latest.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Commuting and housing allowances will be provided. Social insurance will be applied. Mandatory membership in the RIKEN Mutual Benefit Society (RIKEN Kyosaikai). Days off include public holidays, New Year's holidays (Dec. 29 - Jan 3), and RIKEN Foundation Day.
These and other provisions are in accordance with RIKEN regulations.

Also, eligible for an exemption from repayment for category 1 scholarship loans provided by the Japan Student Services Organization before fiscal year 2003, and eligible applying for the MEXT Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (Kakenhi).

  2. List of research achievement and publication
  3. Copies of five selected publications
  4. Summary of past achievements and future research plans in RIKEN (A4 format, within three pages)
  5. Recommendation letter for the current supervisor
  6. Names of two references including the position, affiliation, phone number, and e-mail address
  7. E-mail or Postal address to which the result will be informed

Selection process
