Seeking Research Scientists and/or Postdoctoral Researchers

Research Field

The Advanced Institute for Computational Science (AICS) is operating the world's leading K computer, and also has a strong Research Division. AICS takes the lead in advancing the computational science and aims to be an international center of excellence for computational science in collaboration with a wide range of research organizations. AICS integrates the computer science and computational science to conduct most advanced research and development of a wide range of applied scientific computation, as well as of high performance computing technologies.
The main interests of our team include the development of large-scale numerical simulations for strongly correlated quantum systems and the research of strongly correlated quantum systems mainly using large-scale numerical simulations.

Job title and Job description

Job title, available positions

Research scientists* and/or postdoctoral researchers**
*Applicants who received doctoral degree 5 or more years ago
**Applicants who received doctoral degree within last 5 years

Job description

  1. Development and application of large-scale numerical simulations for dynamics of strongly correlated quantum systems, and/or
  2. Analysis of electronic, magnetic, and dynamic properties of strongly correlated materials and topological materials using large-scale numerical simulations.
The successful candidates are expected to carry out original research and development in tight collaboration with other members of our team, other teams in AICS, and other centers in RIKEN.

Applicants must have a doctor degree (or are expected to have a doctor degree until the employment). The successful candidates for the postdoctoral researcher position are expected to have solid background of theoretical study for condensed matter physics or materials science. The successful candidates for the research scientist position should have strong experience and knowledge of condensed matter physics or materials science using first-principles simulations or quantum many-body simulations. Highly motivated candidates for the development of large-scale simulations are encouraged to apply.
