Careers

Seeking a Research Scientist or Postdoctoral Researcher [PU1701]

Research Field

The RIKEN Center for Life Science Technologies has two core purposes. One is to develop key technologies for breakthroughs in the medical and pharmaceutical applications of life science. The other is to conduct groundbreaking research and development for the next-generation life sciences.

Phyloinformatics Unit is the only laboratory of RIKEN in western Japan that is equipped with both next-generation sequencing and mass spectrometry. Our activity includes large-scale DNA/protein analysis data production and technical support using those devices and original research on genomics, transcriptomics and epigenomics from molecular evolutionary viewpoints. Our original research focuses on comparative sequence informatics involving non-model species, to address various biological questions in life science studies at the molecular level, rather than questions in evolutionary biology. Our unique staff organization, consisting of both laboratory technicians and bioinformaticians enables us to propose project designs for efficient data acquisition with cutting-edge technologies, encompassing sample preparation and bioinformatics analyses. We also participate in RIKEN-wide collaborative programs on epigenetics and single cell studies and conduct various activities for research, development, and fostering.
