RIKEN signs MoU with Tsinghua University

On November 13, a signing ceremony was held in Tokyo for the first memorandum of understanding between RIKEN and Tsinghua University, two leading players in science and technology in Asia that were both established early in the 20th century.

The agreement focuses particularly on cultivating superior young scientists by establishing joint research groups between Tsinghua’s Department of Physics and the RIKEN Center for Emergent Matter Science (CEMS). The signing ceremony was attended by RIKEN Executive Director Maki Kawai, CEMS Director Yoshinori Tokura (CEMS), and Tsinghua University Vice-President Qi-Kun Xue, along with a number of scientists from CEMS.
