CEA Executives visit RIKEN

On January 11 and 13, Chairman Daniel Verwaerde and Vincent Berger, Director of the Fundamental Research Division at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) made a series of visits to the RIKEN Wako and Yokohama campuses.

On the morning of January 11, Dr. Berger arrived at the Wako Campus to pay visits to the Center for Advanced Photonics, the Brain Science Institute and the Center for Emergent Matter Science. In the afternoon, Dr. Verwaerde, following the signing ceremony between RIKEN and CEA, arrived at the Wako Campus and joined a tour of the RI Beam Factory of the Nishina Center for Accelerator-Based Science with Dr. Berger.

On January 13, following the visit of the Wako Campus, Dr. Berger went to the Yokohama Campus where he toured facilities of the Center for Sustainable Resource Science and the NMR facilities of the Center for Life Science Technologies.

During the visit, they met with RIKEN researchers to discuss their research and potential future collaborations.
