This year, 3,300 scientists from around the world were chosen by Clarivate Analytics as Highly Cited Researchers in 21 different fields, based on their publications over the past eleven years. Japan’s share this year was 78, of which 13 were from RIKEN. They are Kenya Honda, who was chosen for his work in immunology, Yuichi Sugiyama for his work in pharmacology & toxicology, Yoshinori Tokura, Naoto Nagaosa, and Franco Nori for their work in physics, and Kazuo Shinozaki, Kazuki Saito, Yuji Kamiya, Hitoshi Sakakibara, Ken Shirasu, Motoaki Seki, Mitsunori Seo, and Mikiko Kojima for their work in animal & plant science.
