Resource Advancement Unit

Unit Leader: Masako Takashima (Ph.D.)

Microorganisms are expected to play invaluable roles as biological resources (bioresources). The precept of the Microbe Division / Japan Collection of Microorganisms (JCM) is "Microbes contributing to human health and the environment”. The Resource Advancement Unit of the Microbe Division works to promote the JCM activity by collecting and distributing authentic reference strains of bacteria, archaea, yeasts and filamentous fungi, that are useful for the study of human health and conservation of the environment.
