In collaboration with JAXA and other institutions, we conduct high-energy astrophysics observations using MAXI (Monitor of All-sky X-ray Image) onboard the International Space Station (ISS). Since the MAXI operation started in 2009, we have detected long-term changes and/or emergence of high-energy sources, including black holes, neutron stars, gamma-ray bursts, and flaring stars. We issued prompt worldwide alerts of these events, and publicly released the MAXI data. The operation of MAXI is approved till the end of 2018 March, and its importance is enhanced by the detection of Gravitational Waves and the launch of the X-ray satellite Hitomi. We also plan to collaborate with the NICER experiment of the USA, soon to be onboard the ISS.
