Because heart diseases represent more than 15% of the cause of death in Japanese population and more than 20% of total medical expenses in Japan, it is socially important to reveal mechanismof these disorders. This laboratory focuses on cardiovascular diseases including myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation, Kawasaki disease, to obtain useful information in clinical fields by genomic analyses. In addition, we work on developing new approaches to tackle with those diseases using machine learning techniques and high-throughput multi-omics technologies that are growing enormously in recent years.
