A postdoctoral researcher, funded by the Japanese Ministry of Science and Education, "Scientific Research on Innovative Area" program, is offered within the area of "Quantum Cybernetics" ( http://www.jsps.go.jp/english/e-grants/grants01.html ) at Riken/NEC Superconducting Quantum Information group* located at Tsukuba, Japan. The Post.doc will be involved in the experiment of Josephson junction qubits. Design of qubit, thin-film fabrication, electron beam lithography, and low temperature electrical characterization are involved with the position.

Qualification Seeking highly motivated individuals holding a PhD degree in physics (specialized in solid state physics), or other relevant disciplines. The candidate should have extensive experience in electrical characterization of solid state nanostructures.

Salary and benefits The term of the contract shall be up to one year until the end of the current fiscal year. Thereafter, the contract is renewable annually upon evaluation until the end of the project. Salary shall be determined on an annual basis subject to the applicant's experience and performance. Social health insurance is applied, commuting and housing allowances are provided. Mandatory membership in the RIKEN Mutual Benefit Society (RIKEN Kyosaikai). Days off are weekends, public holidays, New Year's holidays (Dec 29 - Jan 3) and RIKEN Foundation Day. These and other provisions are in accordance with RIKEN regulations.
