| Construction of physical database of human body for mechanical simulation of human body by way of specifying mechanical data of our bodies | |
|
Mechanical simulation, which is a powerful aid for car design and building construction, is not only useful for efficient developmental research and production, but also essential tool for the confirmation of product reliability to users. We are at the new stage that mechanical simulation can be applied for human body analysis for accidental lesion, fitness improvement of welfare auxiliaries and so on. The group of Computational Biomechanics Unit in Discovery Research Institute, Bio-research Infrastructure Construction Team of VCAD system Research Program in Center for Intellectual Property Strategies, and Shizuoka Industrial Research Institute of Shizuoka Prefecture constructed database of mechanical properties of organ, by unifying all physical specification of our body, which will support mechanical simulation of human body. By use of the biomechanics database, for example, it is possible to monitor how much power will be conveyed to bone and muscle when a part of our body is pressed by some thing. Therefore, the mechanical simulation will be effective to promote the development of more reliable welfare tools and universal design products. The research details are reported at RIKEN symposium, "Computational Biomechanics," Nov. 9th (2006), in addition to the demonstration of the analysis results at "Techno-salon Shizuoka 2006," Nov. 27th (2006). |
