| We are developing methods to link phenome to genome, using the mutants generated in our project. Establishing a high-speed phenotype mapping system and a method for efficient extraction of candidate genes from critical chromosomal regions is essential to our work, and integration informatics plays a central role. We are developing a high-throughput gene identification system (PosMed) to elucidate the genes responsible for phenotypes of interest by integrating all available information on gene expression profiling and in research literature. We also integrate the data published by GSC and other institutes. We are responsible for global servicing of the integrated database system, the fruit of our genomic sciences activities. In the GSC's second stage (from April 2005), we are expected to provide a global-standard database capable of representing the dynamics of higher-order systems (i.e., their life strategies) based on the vast amount of accumulated knowledge in the omic space (i.e., multiple omic-level relationships and networks from genome through to phenome). | ![]() Director Tetsuro TOYODA (Ph.D.)
