Research Areas

Our efforts are mainly focused to understand correlation between structures and functions of the chromatin during mouse embryogenesis. In particular, we are analyzing functions of a class of chromatin modifiers, Polycomb group, in transcriptional regulation of Hox cluster and Ink4a loci. Up to now, we have systematically addressed functions of individual components of Polycomb group complexes by using mouse mutants and started the investigations how the functions of these proteins were mutually regulated. We are also involved in administration of animal facility of RCAI and provide services for generation and storage of genetic resources.

Research Subject

  1. Genetic and biochemical dissection of functions of mammalian Polycomb-group protein complexes
  2. Generation and preservation of genetic resources
