Job title and Job description
Job title, available positions
Openings for Research Scientists or Postdoctoral Researchers, two positions
- Research Scientist

- Postdoctoral Researcher
- Carries out research and other work in accordance with team research themes under the direction of supervisors. Basically defined as those with a doctoral degree of 5 years or less.
Machine learning with big labeled data has been actively investigated and its effectiveness has been demonstrated. However, in many application domains, it is difficult or even it is not possible to collect a large amount of labeled data. In the Imperfect Information Learning Team, for various machine learning tasks including supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning, we develop novel algorithms that allow accurate learning from weakly-supervised data including partially labeled, high-dimensional, non-i.i.d., and extremely noisy data. We also elucidate their theoretical properties and apply them to various real-world applications ranging from fundamental science to business. The successful candidate is expected to develop algorithms of weakly-supervised learning, analyze theoretical properties, and perform experiments individually. Supervising interns and part-time students as well as supporting industry projects are also expected.
- must have a Ph.D. or expect to receive a Ph.D. before the date of employment in computer science or a related field.
- must have strong research experience on machine learning theory, algorithms and experiments.
