Collaborative agreement with NVIDIA

RIKEN and NVIDIA Corporation (NVIDIA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on collaboration and cooperation. The agreement covers exchanges of researchers and other personnel; exchanges of scientific and technological information, including the organization of lectures, joint seminars, and symposiums; planning of joint research projects; and other related projects and activities.

RIKEN possesses strengths in fundamental research across a broad range of natural sciences as Japan's leading comprehensive scientific research institute conducting early-stage research for industrial applications. Within its cross-institute Transformative Research Innovation Platform of RIKEN platforms (TRIP) initiative, launched in fiscal year 2023, RIKEN aims to organically connect its cutting-edge research platforms, foster the construction of new scientific principles beyond existing fields, and propose solutions to various societal challenges. As part of these activities, it is working to expand the realm of computable science through the use of supercomputers, quantum computers, AI, and mathematics, aiming to accelerate the research cycle while advancing the development of essential technologies required for next-generation semiconductors.

Meanwhile, since its founding in 1993, NVIDIA has tackled challenges that no one else could solve as a pioneer in accelerated computing. NVIDIA's efforts in AI computing are transforming some of the world's largest industries and having a profound impact on society.

Through collaborative research leveraging both parties' strengths, the two aim to contribute to the advancement of science and technology and the benefit of the international community.
