On November 1, at the signing ceremony held at USM, RIKEN Nishina Center (RNC) represented by RNC Director Hideto En'yo and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on collaboration on muon science.

In addition to the Memorandum of Agreement already concluded between RIKEN and USM in April, 2012, this new MOA will further strengthen and expand their cooperation in muon science research.

By collaborating research on material science using muon spin relaxation (μSR method) conducted at the RIKEN-RAL Muon Facility in the UK, and muon-site calculation which USM excels at, RIKEN hopes to facilitate research activities that will have a high impact in the field of muon science.
