Aiichiro Inoue awarded Purple Ribbon Medal

Associate Director Aiichiro Inoue of the RIKEN Advanced Institute for Computational Science has been awarded a prestigious Purple Ribbon Medal for his work on the "development of high-performance, high-reliability CPU technology for realizing high-end computers".

Purple Ribbon Medals are awarded twice a year to remarkable individuals who have contributed to academic and artistic developments, improvements and accomplishments. Inoue was awarded the Purple Ribbon Medal this spring in recognition of his brilliant contributions to the development of supercomputer and processor technologies, including the K Computer.

The awards ceremony will take place on May 15th.
