UK Government Chief Scientific Adviser visits RIKEN

On November 6, UK Government Chief Scientific Adviser Dame Angela McLean paid a visit to the RIKEN Wako campus, where she met with President Gonokami for a discussion that included the state of science and technology in Japan and the UK.

Before the meeting with President Gonokami, Dame Angela visited the RIKEN Quantum Computer Research Center (RQC), where she was given an introduction to its research and a tour of its facilities by the Center Director, Yasunobu Nakamura. Following the meeting with President Gonokami, she was given a tour of the Interdisciplinary Theoretical and Mathematical Sciences Program (iTHEMS) by its Program Director, Tetsuo Hatsuda, and Deputy Program Director, Catherine Beauchemin.
