Seeking Research Scientist or Postdoctoral Researcher and Technical Staff (K25010)
Laboratory
Laboratory for Homeodynamics
RIKEN Center for Biosystems Dynamics Research
(Laboratory head: Sa Kan Yoo)
Outline of Laboratory
The Center for Biosystems Dynamics Research (BDR) views the functions of molecules, cells, and organs that support all life stages of organisms as a dynamic system, and aims to elucidate developmental, growth and aging phenomena as well as apply their findings to develop regenerative medicine and diagnostics, thereby contributing to the extension of healthy life expectancies.
The Laboratory for Homeodynamics is recruiting research/technical employees to carry out a new theme. The research overview of the laboratory is shown below.
In our laboratory, we study how tissue homeostasis is regulated mainly using Drosophila. Recently we discovered how stem cells become dysregulated during aging (Sasaki et al. Nature Metabolism 2021). We also discovered how oncogenes simultaneously stimulate both cell death and cell proliferation (Nishida et al. eLife 2021). Most recently, we discovered a new cell death, which we named erebosis, in the fly gut (Ciesielski et al. Plos Biology 2022). We are looking for technical staff who are interested in pursuing this line of research.
RIKEN BDR is an international, interdisciplinary and collaborative institution with state-of-the-art research core facilities, including microscopy, genomics, proteomics and transgenic animal facilities.
