Biopolis is an international research and development centre for biomedical sciences in Singapore. 2013 marks the 10th year since Biopolis was established and the first decade of Singapore’s Biomedical Sciences (BMS) journey.
To celebrate this occasion, an event called the Biopolis Carnevale was held on October 18th with booths by more than 30 public and private research institutes and an open house at A*STAR institutes. More than 3000 people attended the event, the first of its kind at Biopolis.
As a member of the Biopolis community, RIKEN was invited and held a booth at the Biopolis Carnevale together with the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). The booth was an opportunity to promote RIKEN's various research activities, its mission and its programs for young researchers. Visitors to the booth included researchers, secondary and junior high-school students at local schools and their teachers, parents, and job seekers.
