On November 28, a delegation led by Laurent Pic, French Ambassador to Japan, paid a visit to RIKEN’s Advanced Institute for Computational Science (AICS). Following a greeting, AICS Director Kimihiko Hirao made a presentation on the institute and the K computer, including the latest research accomplishments using the supercomputer.
After a viewing of the supercomputer from the visitor's hall, the two sides exchanged views on research collaborations between RIKEN and French institutions, including the collaborative agreementbetween RIKEN and the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA).
