On December 9, Italian Ambassador Gianluigi Benedetti visited the Wako campus, accompanied by Enrico Traversa, Science & Technology Counsellor of the Embassy of Italy in Tokyo. The visit began with a meeting with President Gonokami, where they briefly discussed the current state and future of cooperation between RIKEN and Italy. The visitors then met a number of Italian researchers working at RIKEN during a series of visits and meetings, including Franco Nori, Andrea Benucci, and Marco Casolino.
