Korean Minister of Science and ICT visits Wako Campus

On December 27, Dr. Lee Jong Ho, the Korean Minister of Science and ICT, came to the RIKEN Wako Campus to meet with President Makoto Gonokami and discuss cooperation between RIKEN and the Republic of Korea Government Research Institutes.

The visit began with addresses from President Gonokami and Dr. Lee, followed by an introduction to RIKEN from Executive Director Makiko Naka and a discussion. The delegation was then given a tour of the superconducting quantum computer “A” and other facilities of the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing, by Center Director Yasunobu Nakamura, and of the RI Beam Factory (RIBF)—a heavy ion accelerator facility—and other facilities of the RIKEN Nishina Center for Accelerator-Based Science, by Center Director Hiroyoshi Sakurai, both on the RIKEN Wako Campus.
