RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences Predictive Medicine Special Project
Project Director: Kazuhiro Sakurada (Ph.D.)
Research Summary

The Predictive Medicine Special Project conducts interdisciplinary research that integrates AI, medical data science, and medicine with the goal of realizing personalized preventive medicine based on predictions.
As a method for predicting disease onset and outcome, we have developed foundational technologies for deep phenotyping, which enables highly accurate stratification of target diseases based on their characteristics. By integrating these foundational technologies with state-of-the-art learning algorithms such as transformers, our project aims to analyze longitudinal data and develop generalizable disease models.
