RIKEN SPring-8 Center Detection Systems Development Team
Team Leader: Fabienne Orsini (Ph.D, HDR.)

Our team is engaged in the research, development, and management of detection systems for experiments at advanced synchrotron radiation facilities, with a focus on the upcoming scientific opportunities at SPring-8-II.
Direct hybrid pixelated detectors, with high-Z sensor materials, have been identified as a priority for the current and future high-energy beamlines and are extensively assessed under X-ray irradiation in our laboratory and on beamlines.
Other ongoing and future activities include evaluating the performance of emerging semiconductor sensors and new ASICs for next-generation detection systems. In addition, we are exploring novel detector technologies such as monolithic CMOS sensors and superconducting detectors.
