RIKEN is Japan’s largest and most comprehensive research organization for basic and applied science and a world leader in a diverse array of scientific disciplines. We aim to create an innovative research platform that effectively generates new fields of knowledge across research fields by cross-linking cutting-edge research platforms. Researchers from a diverse range of research fields will hybridize them to create ‘new wisdom’ that transcends existing research fields, promotes the restructuring of academic science, and contributes to the international community by proposing solutions to global-scale issues. We will also promote mutually beneficial collaborations with universities and other academic institutions, as well as industry, to contribute to the resolution of challenges facing human society and expand RIKEN's intellectual value.
