On February 28, H.E. Sibi George, Ambassador of India to Japan, visited the RIKEN Wako Campus to meet with President Makoto Gonokami and discuss cooperation between RIKEN and research institutes in India.
The visit began with tours of the RI Beam Factory (RIBF)—a heavy ion accelerator facility—and other facilities of the RIKEN Nishina Center for Accelerator-Based Science, by Center Director Hiroyoshi Sakurai, the Advanced Organic Synthesis Research Team (RIKEN Center for Sustainable Resource Science), by Team Leader Laurean Ilies and researchers from India, and the superconducting quantum computer “A” and other facilities of the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing, by Unit Leader Eisuke Abe, all on the RIKEN Wako Campus. This was followed by addresses from President Gonokami and Ambassador George, and by an introduction to RIKEN from Executive Director Makiko Naka and a discussion.
