RIKEN Center for Biosystems Dynamics Research Laboratory for Brain Connectomics Imaging

Team Leader: Takuya Hayashi (M.D., Ph.D.)

Research Summary

Takuya Hayashi(M.D., Ph.D.)

Using advanced dynamic imaging techniques, we will clarify the interconnections among organs or cells, which are involved in maintaining homeostasis in the body. We specially focus on the unique feature of nervous system—a network architecture and its activity that contribute to adaptive ability related to neural plasticity, regeneration and sociality. We also try to understand mechanism underlining central nervous system function, such in neurodegenerative disease and disorders in self-control.
