Research Summary


UV light can disinfect viruses in non-contact and non-chemical manners, without producing drug-resistant microorganisms. In particular, UV light with wavelengths ranging from 200–230 nm (Far-UVC) is attracting attention as a light source for virus disinfection that can be used in a manned environment because of its high virus inactivation ability and high safety for living organisms. We aim to realize a virus disinfection system using LEDs, which are compact, robust, and have wavelength tunability.
