Hitoshi  Tanaka(D.Eng.)

The group conducts research and development to upgrade the performance of SACLA in the short to medium term, and to achieve high repetition rate (SACLA-II) with an energy-saving method that reaches several kHz. At the same time, the group develops an optimization method of low emittance optics and component systems necessary for SPring-8-II, which will raise the brightness of SPring-8 by nearly two orders of magnitude. In addition, the group develops beam handling methods and component technologies necessary to actualize a ring FEL using an electron beam much smaller than 100 pmrad, which can be obtained at SPring-8-II.
