RIKEN Center for Sustainable Resource Science Cell Factory Research Team
Team Leader: Akihiko Kondo (Ph.D.)
Research Summary
The Cell Factory Research Team organized in fiscal year 2012 develops optimum technologies for the construction of microorganisms producing biomonomers, a material in chemical products, from plant materials. We have also reinforced our collaboration with the industrial world in order to develop technologies to produce those biomonomers from plant materials such as herbaceous and woody biomasses.
