RIKEN SPring-8 Center SR Imaging Instrumentation Team
Team Leader: Yoshiki Kohmura (D.Sci.)
Research Summary

The SR Imaging Instrumentation Team implements common equipment for use at undulator beamline BL29XUL at SPring-8, so that leading edge X-ray imaging techniques are further developed for the medical, biological, and materials science fields.
The team’s original techniques enable the control of X-rays using structured materials and the manipulation of materials using structured X-rays. (i) The team is studying the X-ray translation effect caused by the deformation of crystal lattices that they recently discovered. (ii) The team has successfully manipulated, trapped, and nano-fabricated materials using structured X-ray beams.
