Twenty researchers from RIKEN—12 with their primary affiliation here—were chosen by Clarivate Analytics to be featured on their list of highly cited researchers of 2018, a listing of the world’s most influential scientists and social scientists “who have demonstrated significant influence through publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade.” More than 4,000 scientists around the world were chosen to receive the citation, with 90 coming from Japan. This year, a new area—“Cross-Field”—was added to cite researchers working in interdisciplinary areas. Asterisks mark the researchers whose primary affiliation is RIKEN.
