研究概要
当研究室では、ヒトの進化を明らかにする新しい数理・統計手法の開発と応用に焦点を当てています。我々は皆、少しずつ異なるDNA配列を持っています。このDNA配列は何十万年の進化の痕跡を記録する、進化の「タイムカプセル」です。先祖の移動・混血・拡散、気候の変化や病原体への適応、絶滅したネアンデルタール人との接触などをDNAから再構築することを、当研究室では目指しています。これらのゲノム情報を活用し、ゲノム進化と今日に伝わる我々の健康への影響を明らかにしていくことを目指しています。
